Ned Watts: Loris

1935 – 2016

    Ned Watts of Loris passed away Monday, Aug. 8. He was 81.
    Mr. Watts was born in Tabor City, a son of the late Albert Dow and Edith Soles Watts. He was a member of Loris First United Methodist Church,  a Maintenance Supervisor for Horry County Schools, and served in the United States Army.
    Mr. Watts was predeceased by three brothers, Bill, Ted, and Dale Watts.
    Survivors include his wife, Ann Watts of Loris; one son, Kenneth Watts and his fiance’ Nancy VanLoon of Pawleys Island; one daughter, Amy Watts of Loris; one granddaughter, Emily Grace Watts of Pawleys Island; two sisters-in-law, Maurice Watts and Melba Watts both of Tabor City, NC; two brothers, Don Watts (Mary) and Ronald Watts all of Tabor City; five sisters, Virginia Long of Tabor City, Doris Grainger of the Carolina Community, Betty June Ward of Tabor City, Peggy Currie of Tabor City, and Phyllis Altine (Jerry) of Mt. Pleasant.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Rev. Russell Freeman and Rev. Grady Corder officiating, committal services, with military honors, following in Patterson Cemetery.
    Family planned to receive friends during the hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
