Letha Mae Ray: Tabor City

1930 – 2016

    Letha Mae Ray of Tabor City died Sunday Aug. 14 in her home. She was 86.
    Born July 22, 1930 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late H. Frank Long and Annie Mae Stanly Long and the widow of William Floyd Ray. She was a member of Forest Lawn Baptist Church.
    She is survived by one son, Floyd Dale Ray of Tabor City; two daughters, Barbara Britt (Graham) of Whiteville, Billie Daniels (Darrel) of Tabor City; one brother, Jack Long of Fayetteville; three sisters, Beatrice Smith of Hampton, Virginia, Sadie Buffkin of Florence, Betty Mills of Fayetteville; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Mack Long.
    Visitation was planned from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17 with funeral services to follow in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC  28472, or Forest Lawn Baptist Church, 16025 James B White Hwy S, Tabor City, NC 28463.
