Ida Pearl Todd Hursey: Loris

1937 – 2016

    Ida Pearl Todd Hursey of Loris, age 79, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, at McLeod Loris hospital following an illness. She was 79.
    Mrs. Hursey was born on May 26, 1937 in Green Sea, to the late Mr. Morgan Council Todd and the late Mrs. Ida Elizabeth Hardee Todd. Mrs. Hursey was a homemaker and longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church but will be most remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all.
    Survivors include her son, Wade Hursey and wife, Rita of Loris; three daughters, Brenda Gail Hardee and husband, Carlton, Diane Hursey and Judy Lynn Bellamy all of Loris; two grandsons, Robert Wayne Batchelor and Timmy Perritt both of Loris, who she raised as her own; a brother, Larry Dell Todd and wife, Roberta of Nichols; a sister, Carrie Mae Suggs of Atlanta, Georgia; and many loving grand and great-grandchildren.
    Mrs. Hursey was predeceased by her loving husband, Mr. Lindsey Alex “Junior” Hursey, Jr.; three brothers, William McKenzie Todd, Morgan “Bud” C. Todd, Jr. and Johnny Leroy Todd; and a sister, Alice Inez Mincey.
    Visitation was planned from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Hardwick Funeral Home, Loris.
    Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Ghent officiating, committal services following at Twin City Memorial Gardens.
