Peter Walter Perog: Little River

1938 – 2016

    Peter Walter Perog of Little River died peacefully in his sleep from a short-term illness surrounded by his children on Monday, Aug. 22. He was 78.
    Mr. Perog was born in Yonkers, New York on April 15, 1938, son of the late Walter Julius and Olga Bybel Perog. He served in the US Marine Corps before embarking on a career as an accountant.
    He is survived by his twin brother Walter and his wife Diana of Ridgewood, New Jersey; his children Douglas Perog of Westbrook, Maine and Carolyn Leigh of Cambridge, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews.
     Family planned to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.
    Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, with Evangelist Beaver Greenway officiating, burial following in North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.
     In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Long Bay Symphony, 1107 48th Avenue N., Suite 310-E, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577, Wilkes University, 84 W. South St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701 where Mr. Perog has made legacy gifts, the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, P. O. Box 1848, Longmont, CO 80502, or Heartland Hospice, 2411 N.
