Izzie Ward Todd: Whiteville

1915 – 2016
Izzie Ward Todd left us to be with the Lord on Sept. 19. She was 100.
She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Izzie was born on Sept. 23, 1915 to Charlie M. Ward and Barbara Ellen Coleman Ward.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Earl C. Todd.
Izzie was a native of North Carolina and grew up in Brunswick and Columbus Counties, living most of her life in the Mollie and Whiteville areas. She was a lifetime member of Sweet Home Baptist Church and loved her Lord, her family and her friends.
She leaves behind, to cherish her memory her family Barbara Todd Godwin, daughter; Valerie Godwin Dumproff, granddaughter and John Dumproff, grandson-in-law of Lake Royale; John Trent Dumproff, great grandson, New York City; Jenamari Dumproff Rigg, great granddaughter, Riley Rigg, great grandson-in-law, and Audrey Rigg, great-great granddaughter, of Raleigh; her “like my own children” Anthony Fipps and wife Carolyn and Carolyn Fipps Thompson, of Whiteville, along with her many friends.
A special gratitude goes to the staff and friends at Shoreland Healthcare for the genuine love and care they gave her over the past two years. She loved you and appreciated all of the many kindnesses you gave her.
Her funeral service was planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Sweet Home Baptist Church, 3111 Walter Todd Road, Clarendon, followed by burial at Bethel Cemetery.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service, in the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sweet Home Baptist Church in her name.
