Ruth Louise Wehrle Upton: Myrtle Beach

1921 – 2016

    Ruth Louise Wehrle Upton of Myrtle Beach passed away Sunday, Sept. 18 at Brightwater in Myrtle Beach. She was 95.
    Born on Aug. 25, 1921 in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Wayne Wehrle and the late Sarah Rebecca Hoover Wehrle. Mrs. Upton worked as a bookkeeper until her retirement and had numerous friends at Carolina Shores where she lived from 1978 to 2011, prior to moving to Brightwater. Mrs. Upton was of the Roman Catholic faith.
     Survivors include her daughter, Dale Herbert and husband, James of Wexford, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Jennifer Belliveau and husband, “J.P” of Simsbury, Connecticut and Jonathan F. Herbert and wife, Maria of Forest Hills, Queens, New York and three great-grandchildren, Samantha Leigh Sudduth, Nicolas Belliveau and Isabell Grace Herbert.
    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Upton was predeceased by her husband William J. Upton.
