Betty Jane Carter: Loris

1937 – 2016

     Betty Jane Carter of Loris passed away Sunday, Sept. 25. She was 79.
     Mrs. Carter was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late James Burroughs and Charity Emma Tyler Canady.
    Mrs. Carter was predeceased by one sister, Merlene Rheuark.
     Survivors include three children, Joey Carter of Longs, Tony Carter of Timmonsville, and Tommy Carter of Myrtle Beach; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, J. B. “Buck” Canady of Loris, Ronnie Canady of Loris, Earl Canady of Norfolk, Virginia, and Lloyd Canady of Loris; and one sister, Joyce Phipps of Loris.
      Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Rev. Jon Johnson and Rev. Alvin Jackson officiating, burial following in the Cane Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Family planned to receive friends during the hour prior tot he service in the funeral home.
