Edward Kent Wright: North Myrtle Beach

1940 – 2016

    Edward Kent Wright of North Myrtle Beach passed away on Thursday, Sept. 29 at his home following an illness. He was 75.
    Born on Nov. 29, 1940 in Charlotte, he was the son of the late Thomas Joel Wright and the late Lila Elizabeth Steele Wright.
    Mr. Wright served his country with courage and honor in the United States Air Force. After the military, Mr. Wright served as a South Carolina State Trooper until his retirement. Mr. Wright was of the Methodist faith but will be most remembered as a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather.
     Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Cox Wright of the home; three sons, Edward Kent Wright, Jr. of Fredericksburg, Virginia, David Ashley Wright and wife, Gina of Sumter, and William Joseph “Jody” Wright of Newport News, Virginia and four loving grandchildren, Eddie, Hayden, Isabella and Taylor.
     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Rodeffer officiating. Committal services followed at Twin City Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
