Danny Gale Chestnutt: Tabor City

1946 – 2016
Danny Gale Chestnutt of Tabor City went to be with his Lord on Sunday, Oct. 9. He was 70.
He was born April 13, 1946 in Columbus County, a son of the late Ozie B. and Zula Mae Faulk Chestnutt.
Danny was a lifetime farmer and logger, and attended Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church in Crusoe. He was a friend and neighbor to all, very devoted to his family, and was always willing to help, never saying no to anyone.
The family would like to thank all of those who have supported the family during this time including the Columbus County and Brunswick County Sheriff Departments, Nakina Fire and Rescue, the National Guard, Home Race Store, and Bright’s Sandwich Company.
A special heartfelt thank you also to Gore’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and Community for your hospitality and thoughtfulness.
Survivors include his wife, Myra H. Chestnutt of the home; daughters, Tabatha C. Miller of Dacula, Georgia and Rebecca C. (Christopher) Cribb of Whiteville; son, Brian D. (Angie) Chestnutt of Pireway; a step-son, Kenneth D. Stocks, II of Whiteville; brothers, W. Ray (Nancy) Chestnutt Terry M. (Karen) Chestnutt, Carl W. Chestnutt, of Nakina and Roger V. Chestnutt, of Whiteville; grandchildren, McKenzie D. Chestnutt, Bailey H. Chestnutt, Gracen E. Miller, and Jenna D. Cribb; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews.
Family planned to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at Inman Ward Funeral Home in Tabor City.
A funeral service was planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in The Long Cemetery.
