Susan Marie Barnes Arnette: Smsithfield, Virginia

1930 – 2016

    Susan Marie Barnes Arnette of Smsithfield, Virginia 86, passed away Friday. Oct. 14. She was 86.
    Born in Columbus, North Carolina, Marie was the daughter of the late Jenavy Cooper and Lossie C. Barnes.
    She had lived in the area for 16 years, coming here to be close to family.
    In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Otha  Arnette, Jr.; son, Charles Randy Arnette; and one grandson, Matt Arnette; and siblings, Jr. Barnes, and Deliah Parrott.
      She leaves to cherish her memory sons, Larry Arnette, Joel Arnette, and James Arnette; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Judy Arnette; sister, Elise Hillman; brothers, George Barnes and Guilford Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.  
    Family and friends were to gather 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 in Carolina Baptist Church, 2401 Church Rd, Green Sea, SC 29545 for visitation, followed by a service celebrating Marie’s life at 2 p.m., with Rev. Johnny Scott officiating, interment following in the Carolina Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Local arrangements are in the care of Colonial Funeral Home, Carrollton, Virginia.
