Clifford Horry Mishoe: Loris

1924 – 2016

    Clifford Horry Mishoe of Loris, age 91, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11 at Conway Medical Center following an illness. He was 91.
    Born Oct. 14, 1924 in Loris, he was the son of the late Pert Mishoe and the late Mattie Smith Mishoe.
    Mr. Mishoe served his country with courage and honor in the United States Army during WWII. While stationed in Berlin he proudly served with the 822nd M.P. Battalion and he still met annually with many of his fellow soldiers at Hickory Knob State Park in McCormick, SC. Following the military, Mr. Mishoe worked as a farmer and was a longtime active member of Beulah Baptist Church.
     Survivors include his wife, Alma Todd Mishoe of the home; son, J. Wayne Mishoe of Gainesville, Florida; three grandchildren, Jason Mishoe and wife, Leann of Boston, Massachusetts, Kevin Paul Mishoe of Gainesville, Florida, and Lauren Mishoe of Dallas, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Paul and Lily Mishoe both of Gainesville, Florida; brother, Thelton R. Mishoe and wife, Emily of Winter Haven, Florida; sister, Lucille Gore and husband, Royce of Tabor City; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Jean Mishoe of Lancaster; brother-in-law, Bill Wansley of Columbia, and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
     In addition to his parents, Mr. Mishoe was predeceased by one son, Clifford Lyle Mishoe; daughter-in-law, Nancy Ann Priddy Mishoe; three brothers, Price Earl Mishoe, Worley Mishoe, and Brice Wilbur Mishoe and one sister, Juanice Wansley.
     Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Thelton Powell officiating. Committal services were private.
