Edith Cox Soles: Tabor City

1926 – 2016
Edith Cox Soles, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of Tabor City, age 90, died Sunday, Nov. 13, at home following an illness. She was 90.
She passed away peacefully with her beloved family by her side.
Born Aug. 28, 1926 in Tabor City, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Marshall Cox and the late Tempie Jane Norris Cox.
Mrs. Soles devoted her life to her family and caring for others. She was involved in volunteer work. Some of her accomplishments include Heart Fund for Columbus County, Secretary for VFW Tabor City, Fund Raiser for Veterans Memorial in Tabor City, Department of Aging Support League for MIA/POW and their families, NCO Wives Club, Avid Bowler.
Mrs. Soles was preceded in death by her loving parents, Charlie M. Cox and Tempie J. Norris Cox; her loving and devoted husband Euclid W. Soles; sister Retha Cox Stevens; son Charles Soles; several nieces and nephews and family members and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Michael W. Soles (Deborah) of Tabor City and Jimmy Soles (Jill) of High Point; daughter Marcia Soles Anderson (Clyde) of Tabor City; six grandchildren, Gina Browning (Bryan), Angela Caton, Deanna Soles Hammond Norris (David), Jessie Parson (Brian), Letitia Soles, James “Bo” Tyson (Jamie); nine great grandchildren; special sister Esther Boyd of Loris; special brother-in-law Major E. H. Stevens, retired; special niece Diane Jones; special daughter Annie M. Lee; devoted care givers Lovanda Hyatt and Angela Fowler.
Funeral Services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in Oak Dale Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.
Visitation was planned for the hour prior to the service in the church.
