George Hiddleston Kim, Jr.: Longs

    George Hiddleston Kim, Jr. of Longs passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center following an illness. He was 80.
    Born on May 23, 1936 in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late George Hiddleston Kim, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Warrender Kim.
    Mr. Kim served his country with courage and honor in the United States Marine Corp. After his service he worked and retired from Karastan Mills as a carpet executive.
     Survivors include his loving wife, Silver Kim of the home; son, Gregory George Kim and wife, Alexandra of Oakland, California; daughter, Lisa Ann Kim of Iowa City, Iowa; two grandchildren, Wolfgang Charles Tyler-Kim and Shawn Kim-Morris and one sister, Elizabeth Warman and husband, Fred of Spring, Texas.
     In addition to his parents, Mr. Kim was predeceased by one sister, Jean Kim.
     Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Mr. Gregory George Kim officiating.
