Flora Belle Gore of Jacksonville, Florida died Dec. 7 in Jacksonville. She was 89.
Born in Columbus County on Dec. 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Mollie Belle Gore.
Mrs. Gore was an educator. She taught at Tabor City Elementary School for 10 years and in Florida for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Roland Gore and a sister, Blanche Grainger.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Gore of the home; one son, Johnny and his wife Chery of Jacksonville, Florida; two grandchildren, Joshua and Carissa; a very special niece, Sylvia Harrelson and her husband Duane of Statesville and their daughter Amanda Templeton; a grandniece and nephew, Savannah and Jacob Templeton; five nieces and two nephews.
A private memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12 in Isaac Gore Cemetery, Tabor City.
A memorial service in Jacksonville, Florida was planned for 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, in Dinsmore United Methodist Church.
