Loyd “Bob” Cartret: Chadbourn

1935 – 2016

    Loyd “Bob” Cartret of Chadbourn died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCare Center, Whiteville. He was 81.
    Born Jan. 16, 1935 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late C.M. Cartret and Rebecca McPherson Cartret.
    He was a pipe fitter and welder with Dupont in Leland for 27 years. He also farmed with his wife, Anne.
    He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne Tyree Cartret; a son, Mickey Wayne Cartret of Chadbourn; a daughter, Melissa Cartret Nealey of Chadbourn; a brother, Carlton Cartrette of Whiteville; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Richy Loyd Cartret.
    His funeral service was planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, in the Peacock Funeral Home Chapel in Whiteville by Pastor Donald Conway. Burial followed in Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park. Visitation was planned for the hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
