Car into parked trailer leaves man critically hurt

Firefighters look for identification on Monday morning crash scene. (Deuce Niven, TLT)

A critically injured man was taken from an early morning auto crash on Dothan Road to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.
Emergency crews were dispatched about 4:45 a.m., though it was not immediately clear when the silver Toyota slammed under a parked 18-wheeler trailer. It appeared the car was traveling north on Horace McKee Road when it went through the stop sign, crossing Dothan Road, and struck one of two trailers parked side-by-side well off the highway.
There was no indication of braking in the mud remaining from overnight rains.
Medical helicopters were unavailable. Tabor City Emergency Services transported the patient to the regional trauma center at Myrtle Beach.
