UPDATE: Drug, probation round-up now nets 24

Wednesday
    Three more suspects in a round-up of drug crime suspects and probation violators were taken into custody by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office during the overnight hours ending Wednesday morning, including one from Clarendon.
    That brings the total, including 21 reported Tuesday, to 24 taken into custody in the sheriff’s operation, spokeswoman Michelle Tatum said in a news release.
    Among the latest arrested is Ronald Holmes Stewart III, 26, of Canyon Drive, Clarendon, charged with four counts of trafficking opium or heroin, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the use, sale or storage of a controlled substance, those offenses occurring Jan. 23. He was jailed under a $5,000 secured bond.

Tuesday night
    A round-up of 21 men and women has been completed by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office in an operation that ended Tuesday.
    A total of 81 charges were filed against suspects from across the county, sheriff’s spokeswoman Michelle Tatum said in a news release.
    Two of those charged were from Tabor City, one each with Clarendon or Fair Bluff addresses. Most of those arrested were from Whiteville and Chadbourn.
    Those arrested, ages, charges, date of offense, and bond amounts include:

Tabor City
•    Tabatha Hilburn, 37, MM Ray Road, four counts of conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin, Feb. 6, $40,000 secured
•    William Norris Scott Jr., 44, Horace Cox Road, sale and delivery of a schedule 2 controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and/or deliver a schedule 2 controlled substance; maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the use, sale or storage of a controlled substance, Sept. 9, 2016; $30,000 secured.

Clarendon
•    Billy Wayne Smith, 67, Mollie Iron Hill Road, two counts of sale and delivery of a schedule 3 controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and/or deliver a schedule 2 controlled substance; possession with intent to sell and/or deliver a schedule 3 controlled substance; and two counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the use, sale or storage of a controlled substance; Sept. 29 and Oct. 3, 2016; $100,000 secured

Fair Bluff
•    Antwain L. Johnson, 37, Hamer Street, two counts of sale and deliver of cocaine, on count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and/or deliver cocaine, June 2, 2016, $20,000 secured
