Hoyt V. Rabon: Loris

1929 – 2017

     Hoyt V. Rabon of Loris passed away Monday, June 12, at McLeod Loris hospital following an illness. He was 87.

     Mr. Rabon was born in Horry County, a son of the late William and Viola Todd Rabon. He worked at Loris Manufacturing for 38 years and was a farmer.

     He was predeceased by four brothers, Tilman Rabon, Verdell Rabon, Lee Rabon, and Harry Rabon; and four sisters, Velma Smith, Eloise Edmonds, Thelma Squires, and Emma Jean Todd.

     Survivors include three sons, Terry Rabon of Sanford, Ronnie Rabon of Wilmington, and Keith Rabon of Tabor City; two daughters, Ruthie Rabon of Loris and Jeri Rabon Widenhouse of Myrtle Beach; a brother, William Eugene Rabon of Columbia; 12 grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel with Rev. Prentiss Norton officiating. Burial followed in Twin City Memorial Gardens.

     Family planned to receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
