Billy Rogers: Loris

Billy Rogers of Loris died Wednesday, June 21 in McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence. He was 72.
Born April 23, 1945 in Lumberton, he was the son of the late John and Sophronia Rogers and the widower of Evelyn Aline Watts Rogers.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Rogers of Rowland, Adriane Graham of Loris; four sons, Billy Rogers Jr. of Myrtle Beach, James Rogers of Fairmont, Ricky Rogers of Fairmont, Billy Wayne Chester of Loris; two step daughters, Norma Jean Dew of Chadbourn, Marva Dean Chester Locklear of Whiteville; one step-son, Shane Chester of Loris; one brother, Bobby Ray Rogers of Riverdale, Georgia; 27 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and special nephews, Don Rogers and Stanley Rogers, Jr. “Pap”.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister: Mary Sweet; and four brothers: Johnny “Shorty” Rogers Jr., Israel “Bill” Rogers, Stanley Rogers, Sr., W. H. Rogers.
Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 23 in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.
Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Saturday, June 24 in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery.
