Helena Glowacka Slusarczyk: Longs

1923 – 2017

     Helena Glowacka Slusarczyk of Longs passed away on Tuesday, June 13, at her home. She was 93.

     Mrs. Slusarczyk was born on Oct.19, 1923 in Kiciny, Poland, daughter of the late Jozef Glowacki and the late Bronislawa Ziowkowska. Mrs. Slusarczyk was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford, Connecticut.

     Survivors include her four children, Sophia Kunigiel, Zbigniew Slusarczyk, Bogumila Zaborowska and Agnes Morden; eleven grandchildren, Roman Kunigiel, Elizabeth and her husband. Patrick Kelly, Jr., Helen Bubowski, Gabriela Nowakowski, Lauri Morden, James Morden, Katarzyna Slusarczyk, Malgorzata Slusarczyk, Sylwester Slusarczyk, Renata Slusarczyk and Jacek Slusarczyk; nine great-grandchildren, Lynn Olliver, Natalee Libardi, James Libardi, Wojciech Kozerski, Maciej Kozerski, Alexandria Kelly, Patrick Kelly III, Karlene Kunigiel Bates, Mathieu Kunigiel; four great-great-grandchildren, Sean Oliver, Jr., Seth Olliver, Mckenzie Doucette and  Kensley Bates.

     Mrs. Slusarczyk was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Walter Slusarczyk.

     A Funeral Mass was held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 17 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Committal services followed on Tuesday, June 20, at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, Connecticut.
