Marilyn Jo Fipps: Tabor City
1940 – 2017
Marilyn Jo Fipps of Tabor City died Tuesday, Aug. 1, in Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCenter, Whiteville. She was 76.
Born Oct. 4, 1940 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Numpy A. and Sessie Magnolia Fowler Fipps.
She is survived by two sisters, Winetta Fipps Martin of Fuquay Varina and Frances “Patsy” Merritt of Tabor City; a brother, James Ted Fipps of Maryville, Tennessee; 14 nieces; and six nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Ila V Fipps; and four brothers, Layton, Wade, Fred and Billy Fipps.
Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, in Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.
Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
