Louise Rogers Gerald Miles: Loris

1931 – 2017

     Louise Rogers Gerald Miles of Loris went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017 at McLeod Seacoast hospital while in the arms of her loving adopted son Dewey Price. She was 86.

     Born May 3, 1931 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Rogers and the late Frances Emma Barnhill Rogers.

     Mrs. Miles worked with Marlene Industries for 22 years, was a loving homemaker and attended Dogwood Hill Baptist Church. She will be most remembered as a loving mother, adoptive mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her.

     Survivors include her adopted son, Dewey Price of the home; her best friend, Theresa Suggs,of Loris; two daughters, Brenda Kunkel of Tampa, Florida and Sylvia Dianne Graham and husband Kim of Loris; two sons, Jimmy Gerald and wife, Lib of Longs and Terry Gerald and wife, Doris of Loris; a brother, Henry Junior Benton and wife, Shirley of Leland; a special niece, Sylvia Prince and husband Wendell of Chadbourn; three loving grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family members whom she loved dearly.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miles was predeceased by her two husbands, Bankston Gerald and James Earl “Jimmy” Miles; one brother, Willard Benton; son-in-law Russ Kunkell; and her beloved cat, “Precious”.

     Family planned to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at Hardwick Funeral Home, Loris.

     Graveside services were planned for 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at Twin City Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Jimmy Floyd officiating.
