Jimmy Wayne Blanton: Loris

1951 – 2017

     Jimmy Wayne Blanton of Loris passed away on Friday, Aug. 11 at McLeod Loris hospital following an illness. He was 66.

     Born Jan. 1, 1951 in Mullins, he was the son of the late Joseph Blanton and the late Myrtie Mae Watts Blanton. Mr. Blanton worked as a farmer and truck driver until his retirement and attended Live Oak Baptist Church.

     Survivors include his two sons, Dennis Olson Blanton and wife, Stacey and Joseph Dewayne Blanton all of Loris; their mother, Shelley Harver; daughter Krystal Elaine Blanton Langdon and husband, Ryan of Goose Creek and her mother, Robin Walker; five loving grandchildren, Ansley, Brice, Sofia, Serena and Tanner; brother, Stuart Blanton and wife Donna of Loris; and two sisters, Wanda Faye Blanton Hodge of Loris and Beverly Blanton Ray and husband, Edward of Galivants Ferry.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Blanton was predeceased by one brother-in-law, Return Hodge.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14 at Hardwick Memorial Chapel in Loris with Pastor Mark Hughes and Rev. Roger Chestnut officiating, committal services following at Live Oak Cemetery.
