Mildred “Mickie” Sides Graham: Loris

1934 – 2017

     Mildred “Mickie” Sides Graham of Loris passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4. She was 84.

     Mrs. Graham was born in Maiden, a daughter of the late Rev. Haskell Leroy and Lois Marie Cook Sides.

     She was a member of Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, involved in the music ministry for over 60 years, and served in the WMU.  Over the years, she cared for many children in her home and was known to them as “Mick Mick.”  Mrs. Graham touched the lives of all those she met and was devoted to her family.

     She was predeceased by her husband, Walin J. Graham, Sr.; her daughter, Karen Lynn Graham; three brothers, Harold Sides, Haskell Sides, and Roney Sides; and two sisters, Queta S. Buffkin and Linda S. Reel.

     Survivors include one son, W. J. Graham, Jr. of Loris; two daughters, Pat G. Williams and her husband Ronnie and Donna G. Blanton and her husband Dale, all of Loris; six grandchildren, Jay Graham and his wife Lynn, Patrick Williams and his wife Khrissa, Allyson Williams and her husband Jeremy, Sarah Johnson and her husband Hunter, Jason Blanton and his wife Katie, and Hannah Cox and her husband Austin; six great-grandchildren, Mason Williams, A. J. Graham, Leah Williams, Quinn Johnson, Houston Graham, and Luke Williams; four brothers, Richard Sides and his wife Sue Jane, Sankey Sides and his wife Jill, Billy Sides and his wife Ashlyn, and Danny Sides and his wife Sylvia; one sister, Loreta S. Atkins and her husband Steve; one sister-in-law, Emilie Sides; one brother-in-law, Jerry Reel; and family caregiver, Regina Hemingway.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church with Rev. Mark George officiating, burial following in Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.

     Family would like to thank the staff of Lower Cape Fear Mercy Hospice for their care and devotion to Mrs. Graham.
