James “Jim” Daniel Ayers, Jr.: Loris

1932 – 2017

     James “Jim” Daniel Ayers, Jr., of Loris passed away Monday, Oct. 16. He was 85.

     Mr. Ayers was born in Spartanburg, a son of the late James Daniel Ayers, Sr. and the late Annie Rose Taylor Ayers.

     Mr. Ayers was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Shirley Anne Metts Ayers, and one son, James “Jimmy” D. Ayers, III.

     Survivors include his three children, Donna Kay Walker of Beaumont, Texas, Tammie Ayers Trevathan of Loris, and Thomas Ayers of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one grandson, Robert James Trevathan; and four brothers, Don Ayers, Larry Ayers, Wayne Ayers and Jerry Ayers.

     A memorial service was planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at Living Water Baptist Church with Rev. Lebron Crisp and Rev. John Goudelock officiating.
