William Edward Jewell: Longs

1939 – 2017

     William Edward Jewell passed away on Sept. 6, at his home in Longs. He was 78.

     Mr. Jewell was born May 23, 1939 in Washington, DC, the son of the late Mr. William Henry Jewell and the late Mrs. Irma Grace Stoneman Jewell. He served his country in the US Navy. After the Navy, Mr. Jewell worked as a cooler control technician until his retirement.

     Survivors include his two daughters, Joanna Harford and Suzanne Walters; his son, William Edward Jewell, Jr.; and one brother, Stephen Jewell.

     Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Florence National Cemetery in Florence.
