Solomon Levi Porter: Tabor City
1937 – 2017
Solomon Levi Porter of Tabor City died Saturday, Dec. 2, in McLeod Loris hospital, Loris, surrounded by his family. He was 80.
Born in Horry County, he was the son of the late Lance Chandus Porter Sr. and Anna Thelma Cartrette Porter.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Chandus Lance Porter Jr, Leo Porter and Wilbur J. Porter; and one sister, Anna Marie Porter Fowler.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Fowler Porter of the home; one son, Jeffrey Levi Porter and wife Kathy of Little River; one daughter, LaCha Porter-Goff and husband Kim of Loris; two grandchildren, Lance Porter of Charleston; Lauren Porter Rogers and husband Keith of Little River; one nephew, Jody Lancaster of Little River; one niece, Annadora Fowler of Little River; and a special friend, Margie Tyler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Fresenius Kidney Care Center, 3827 Bell St. Loris, SC 29569.
Private graveside services were planned at Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
