James P. “Jamey” Stevens, III: Loris

1973 – 2017

     James P. “Jamey” Stevens, III of Loris passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2. He was 44.

     Jamey was born July 16, 1973 in Columbia. He graduated from Loris High School, attended Wingate College and worked as a paralegal with Stevens Law Firm.

     Jamey was currently serving on the board of directors for the Loris Chamber of Commerce; he was an avid golfer, loved surfing and was a lifelong fan of the Carolina Gamecocks. Jamey was a member of Loris First United Methodist Church; he never met a stranger and had a very generous heart.

     Survivors include his two daughters, Dylan Rose Stevens of Calabash and Hazel Loveland of Surfside Beach; paternal grandmother, Madeleine Mary Stevens and maternal grandmother Pearl Prince, both of Loris; father, James P. “Jimmy” Stevens, Jr. and wife, Holly of Sunset Beach; mother, Dixie P. Stevens Hayes and husband, Gene of Danville, Virginia; sister, Natalie S. Stevens Graziani and husband, Daniel Graziani, Sr. of Longs; brother, Zachary Stevens of Sunset Beach; niece Sophia Graziani; nephews James Anthony Graziani and Daniel Graziani, Jr.; and many loving aunts uncles and extended family.

     Mr. Stevens was predeceased by his grandparents, Senator James P. Stevens, Sr., Ernest I. Prince and K. K. Fitch.

     Family planned to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Hardwick Funeral Home, Loris.

     Memorial services were were planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at Loris First United Methodist Church with Pastor Grady Corder officiating, committal services following at Patterson Cemetery.
