Irene Norris: Whiteville

1951 – 2018

     Irene Norris of Whiteville, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, in her home. She was 66.

     Born April 9, 1951 in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Marion Wilson Williams and Sylvia Faye Powell Williams.

     She is survived by her husband, Johnny Mitchell Norris of the home; two daughters, Tara Jane Smith Watts of Tabor City and Johnnie Michelle Norris Cartrette of Whiteville; a son, Sean Bassett of Nakina; a brother, Trent Williams of Asheville; a sister, Bonnie Cartrette of Whiteville; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Selena Sue Smith.

     Visitation was planned from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, in Inman Ward Funeral Home of Tabor City.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel, burial following in Myrtle Green Cemetery, Tabor City.
