Doris Ann Causey Stevens: Loris

1935 – 2018

     Doris Ann Causey Stevens of Loris, passed away on Monday, Jan. 29, at Loris Rehab and Nursing Facility.  She was 82.

     She was born on July 5, 1935 in Loris, daughter of the late William Cicero Causey and the late Annie Hewitt Causey.

     Mrs. Stevens was a devoted Christian who loved singing in the New Home Baptist Church choir and always helped decorate the church for special occasions. She always had a kind word, loved people and was a true inspiration to everyone she met. She was truly loved by her family and many friends and will be greatly missed.

     Survivors include her two daughters, Brenda S. Lee and husband, Leston of Conway, and Sheryl Huggins and husband, Hank of Loris; her two sons, Michael E. Stevens and wife, Phyllis of Londonderry, New Hampshire and David A. Stevens and wife, Karen of Loris; four grandchildren, Richard Lee and wife, Debbie of Conway, and Carla Huggins Cox and husband, Jimmy of Loris, Tonya Huggins of Murrells Inlet, and April Stevens of Revere, Massachusetts; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Cox, Justin Cox, Preston Lee and Travis Lee; sister, Larna Hucks and husband, Bobby of Ladson; sisters-in-law, Leila Stevens of Beaufort, and Daphine Causey of Wilmington, and her special best friend, Mozell Taylor who is like a sister and who became a part of our family.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stevens was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Eugene Stevens; two brothers, William “Bill” Causey and Cecil Causey and sister, Lorene Stevens.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at New Home Baptist Church with Pastor Myron Pritchard and Reverend David Watts officiating. Committal services were to be private.

     Family planned to receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, at New Home Baptist Church Fellowship Hall prior to services.

     Memorials may be made to New Home Baptist Church, 1685 Hwy. 139, Conway, SC 29526.
