Hester Maxine Davis Spivey: Loris

1936 – 2018

     Hester Maxine Davis Spivey of Loris passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, at her home following an illness. She was 81.

     Mrs. Spivey was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Cordova, Alabama, daughter of the late, Foide Davis and the late, Eldis Mills Davis. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

     Survivors include her husband, Rev. Edward Spivey of the home; daughter Glenda Spivey Giroux and husband, Clint of Clarendon; two brothers, Earl Davis and wife, Kate and Jimmy Davis all of Thompsonville, Illinois; sister Sara Smallwood and husband, Bob of Tabor City; two grandchildren, Garry Phillips and wife, Mary and Matthew Phillips all of Loris; and many nieces and nephews.

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Pastor Reverend Heath Conner officiating. Committal services followed at Oak Dale Cemetery.
