Rebecca Small Grainger: Green Sea

1925 – 2018

     Rebecca Small Grainger of Green Sea, age 92, passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, at McLeod Loris hospital.

     Mrs. Grainger was born June 3, 1925 in Green Sea, the daughter of the late Montgomery “M.G.” Small and the late Ruth Coleman Small.

Mrs. Grainger retired as a farmer and was a longtime member of Green Sea Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her two sons, John Grainger and wife, Wanda of Loris, and Dale Grainger and wife, Kay of Green Sea; daughter Bonnie Duncan of Myrtle Beach; four grandchildren, Lisa Duncan, Kevin Grainger and wife, Natalie, Amanda Duncan and Mark Grainger and wife, Amanda; eight great-grandchildren, Connor, Kourtney, Kaylee, Kevin Nicole, Torri, Kassidy, Kolby and Logan; brother, Dewey Small of Loris; three sisters, Estaleen Edwards of Florence and Aline Williams and Shirly Covil both of Wilmington; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Small of Tabor City and Louise Small of Thomasville; and brother-in-law Wayne Floyd of Loris.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grainger was predeceased by her husband, John Dudley Grainger; two brothers, Johnny L. Small and Steve D. Small; and two sisters, Margie Floyd and Gladys Buffkin.

     Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Green Sea Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Donaldson and Rev. Jerry Phillips officiating. Committal services followed at Twin City Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
