Frances Ann Cartrette Hewett: Clarendon

1938 – 2018

     Frances Ann Cartrette Hewett of Clarendon died Saturday, Feb. 10, in her home. She was 79.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie James Cartrette and Annie Mae Cribb Cartrette. She was the widow of Donald Hewett.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Polly Ann Cartrette Hinson; and a son-in-law James Barnes.

     She is survived by two daughters, Karen Hewett Miley of Hallsboro and Donna Hewett Barnes of Whiteville; a brother, TM Cartrette of Clarendon; a sister, Idella McPherson of Clarendon; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, in Inman Ward Funeral Home, Tabor City.

     Funeral services were planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, in Free Welcome Christian Church in the Sellerstown Community, Whiteville, burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City.
