Evelyn Chestnut Cox Cooke: Conway
1930 – 2018
Evelyn Chestnut Cox Cooke of Conway passed away Friday, March 9. She was 87.
Born March 11, 1930 in Conway, she was the daughter of the late Orbin and Blanche Boyd Chestnut.
Evelyn was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and was employed with Southland Nursery for more 30 years.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Walon Cox and her second husband, Clyde Cooke; her brothers, Vernon, Lonnie, and Audi Chestnut; and a sister, Vera Tyler.
Surviving are her five children, Joyce Williamson, Jackie Stevens, Buddy Cox, Ricky Cox, and Frances Prince; her grandchildren, Tracey Campbell, Mishellie Smith, Martin Williamson, Justin Cox, Brooks Cox, Carmin Samaha, Cristin Cox, Mark Prince, and Dart Prince; one sister, Velma Hodges; 16 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Visitation was planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel Hill.
Funeral services were planned for 4 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Rodney Hord officiating, burial following at Hillcrest Cemetery.
