Louise Blanton Richardson Doyle: Marion

1929 – 2018

     Louise Blanton Richardson Doyle of Marion, passed away on Saturday, June 2,  at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. She was 88.

     Mrs. Doyle was born on Sept. 2, 1929 in Loris, daughter of the late, Samuel Overson Blanton and the late, Matha Lee Skipper Blanton. Mrs. Doyle worked with Anvil knitwear and was a longtime member of Ariel Baptist Church.

     Survivors include her daughter, Josephine “Jo” R. Turner of Marion; three brothers, Jack Blanton and J.P. Blanton both of Loris, and Bill Blanton and wife, Faye of Virginia; one sister, Matha Lee “Teenie” Causey of Loris; five grandchildren, David Turner, Jr., Crystal Turner, Henry Thomas Gore, Sammy Gore and Tommy Gore; many loving great and great-great-grandchildren who affectionately called her “GG” and a special friend, Roosevelt Chandler.

     Mrs. Doyle was predeceased by her first husband, Thomas Richardson; her second husband, James Doyle; her son, Thomas Earl Richardson; her daughter, June Gore and five brothers, Joe Blanton, Hubert Blanton, Mack Blanton, Clifton Sarvis and Roy Sarvis.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Ariel Baptist Church with Pastor Paul W. Wall officiating, committal services following at Centenary United Methodist Church Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour prior to services at Ariel Baptist Church.
