Alice Hucks Prince: Loris
1940 – 2018
Alice Hucks Prince of Loris passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at home following an illness. She was 77.
Ms. Prince was born Dec. 31, 1940 in Conway to the late Oscar Kirby Hucks and the late Edna Josephine Todd.
Ms. Prince was a nursing assistant at Loris Nursing Home and a longtime member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son Michael D. Prince and wife, Janet of Loris; two daughters, Julie Skipper and Sharon Goodwin and husband, James Russell all of Loris; five grandchildren, Jennifer Turner and husband, Neal, Amber Herring and husband, Robby, Bridgette Prince and husband, Jordy Gore, Jessica McLeod and wife, Michelle Strickland, and Hope Goodwin; seven great grandchildren, Curtis Turner, Morgan Turner, Riley Herring, Alston Herring, Kennedy Grella, Katherine Grella and Brody Gore; two brothers, Charles Hucks and wife, Virginia, of Conway and Russell Hucks and wife, Robbin of Asheboro; and a sister, Betty Sue Carter and husband Burk of Conway.
Ms. Prince was predeceased by her husband, Eldridge Monroe Prince; a brother, Wayne Hucks; and a sister, Amy Bell.
Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Hardwick Memorial Chapel in Loris with Rev. John Sullivan officiating, committal services following at Twin City Mausoleum.
Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service at Hardwick Funeral Home.
