Clyde H. Richardson, Jr.: Loris

1925 – 2018

     Clyde H. Richardson, Jr., of Loris passed away Monday, Nov. 12. He was 93.

     Mr. Richardson was born in Horry County, a son of the late Clyde Henry Richardson, Sr., and the late Nancy Glenn Chestnut Richardson.

     He was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.

     Mr. Richardson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Loris First Baptist Church where he served in many capacities over the years. Mr. Richardson was a member of the Loris Civitan Club, WoodmenLife, and Loris Garden Club where he was one of the first male members. He enjoyed working on clocks and working with his hands.  Mr. Richardson worked as a printer at State Printing Company.  He was a former co-owner of Grady’s Jewelers in Loris.  Mr. Richardson managed the print shop at Coastal Carolina University.

     He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy W. Richardson of Loris; his daughter, Donna Richardson Rabon (Luther) of Marion; two brothers,  Lynwood Ethell Richardson (Lila) of Waynesville, and Grady Leo Richardson (Adelle) of Conway; and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Visitation was planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Loris Chapel.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at Loris First Baptist Church with Dr. Louis Venable officiating. Committal services, with military honors, were to follow at Hillcrest Mausoleum.
