Marjorie Ward Gore: Clarendon

1934 – 2018

     Marjorie Ward Gore of Clarendon died Wednesday, Dec. 5, in her home. She was 83.

     Born in Columbus County, she was the daughter of the late Lemon Paul Ward and Ruby Stephens Ward.

     She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she served for many years as choir director, Sunday school director and a lay speaker.

     She is survived by her husband, Samuel J. Gore of Clarendon; two daughters, Mary Gore Wilson of Clarendon and Dr. Rebecca A. Gore of Raleigh; and a grandson, Samuel Gore Wilson of Clarendon.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, LP Ward Jr.; and a sister, Doris Ward.

     Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in Bethel United Methodist Church, Clarendon, burial following in Bethel Memorial Cemetery, Clarendon.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service in the church.
