Gladys Lee Duncan Cooper: Loris
1923 – 2018
Gladys Lee Duncan Cooper of Loris, wife of the late Rufus Jefferson Cooper, died Wednesday, Dec. 26. She was 95.
Mrs. Cooper was born in Loris, a daughter of the late Doctor Buren and Rosa Lee Todd Duncan. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cooper was also predeceased by a daughter, Lynda Lee Creek; three brothers, Franklin Duncan, A.J. Duncan and Earl Duncan; and a son-in-law, Ted Boyd, Sr.
Surviving are one son, Gary R. Cooper, Sr. (Mary) of Charleston; a daughter, Martha C. Boyd of Loris; six grandchildren, Gary R. Cooper, Jr. (Lisa), Robin Cooper, William Creek (Stephanie), Amanda Abston (Beau), Ted E. Boyd, Jr. (Samantha), and Jennifer Leigh Boyd Causey (Frank), who was her special caregiver for the past 15 years; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Van Duncan (Rebecca) of Loris and Howard Duncan (Fredna) of Latta; a sister-in-law, Sherry Duncan of Loris; and a son-in-law, Bill Creek of Johns Island.
Funeral services were planned for 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Caleb Garald and Rev. Wendell Ray officiating, burial following in Twin City Memorial Gardens.
Family planned to receive friends at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church during the hour preceding the service.
