Clara Iree Grainger: Green Sea

1926 – 2019

     Clara Iree Grainger of Green Sea, died Monday, Feb. 18, in the McLeod Loris hospital. She was 92.

     Born March 2, 1926 in Loris, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Turner West and Rosa Gause West and the widow of Ralph Reppert Grainger.

     She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Norris of Thomasville, Linda Faye Poston of Tabor City, Sylvia Hughes of Middlesex; one sister, Maggie Sullivan of Selma; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Grainger and Bobby Grainger; one daughter, Peggy Blaylock; three brothers, Thomas West, Lawrence West and Havey Lee West; two sisters, Nina Cox and Shirley Bessant and one granddaughter, Stacy Grainger.

     Visitation was planned from 1 to 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Inman Ward Funeral Home.

     A graveside service was planned to follow at 2 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
