Madeleine Mary Zabelicky Stevens: Loris

1923 – 2019

     Beloved wife of the late James Price Stevens, Sr., Madeleine Mary Zabelicky Stevens of Loris passed away on Saturday, March 2, at her home. She was 95.

     Mrs. Stevens was born on March 30, 1923 in New York, New York to the late, Joseph Marion Zabelicky and the late, Amelie Louise Peyret Zabelicky.

     Survivors include her three sons, James “Jimmy” Price Stevens, Jr. and his wife, Holly of Sunset Beach, Randle McQueen Stevens of Surfside Beach, and Douglas Yancey Stevens of Texas; her daughter, Victoria Joy Stevens of Loris; her sister, Lucille Cricchio and her husband, Joe of Tom River, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Natalie Stevens-Graziani and her husband, Daniel;  Zachary Price Hartman Stevens, Ashley Stevens, Melody Stevens, and Amelie Stevens; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Graziani, James Anthony Graziani, Dylan Rose Stevens, and Hazel Loveland.

     In addition to her parents, Madeleine was predeceased by her husband, Senator James P. Stevens, Sr.; her grandson, James “Jamey” P. Stevens, III; her sister, Patricia “Pat” Stevens and her brother, Joseph Zabelicky.

     Visitation was planned from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m. on Friday, March 8, at Loris First United Methodist Church.

     Memorial services were planned for 2 p.m. on Friday, March 8, at Loris First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bruce Adams officiating, committal services following at Patterson Cemetery.
