Donald “Pad” Faircloth, Sr.: Longs

1944 – 2019

     Donald “Pad” Faircloth, Sr., of Longs passed away Wednesday, April 17,  at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.  He was 75.

     Mr. Faircloth was born on Feb. 29, 1944 in Loris to the late Hart Faircloth and the late Helen Fowler Faircloth.

     Mr. Faircloth was a longtime member of Waccamaw Baptist Church.

     Mr. Faircloth enjoyed farming, fishing, and was an active member with East Coast Pullers, where he was known as “Hot Rod” and made a great friend, “Homer”.

     Survivors include his son, Donald Faircloth, Jr., and wife, Connie of Longs; an honorary son, Donnie Wilson of Longs; three grand-daughters, Hailey Jones of Longs, Lauren Faircloth of North Myrtle Beach, and Danielle Faircloth of Longs; one great-grandson, TaLan of North Myrtle Beach.

     In addition to his parents, Mr. Faircloth was predeceased by his wife, Judy Laye Morton Faircloth; two brothers, Brice Faircloth and A.E. Faircloth; and three sisters, Alma Lee Hardee, Lottie Mae Faircloth Causey, and Myrtle Lee Bessant.

     Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 22, in  Hardwick Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mack Hutson and Rev. Danny Whitner officiating. Committal services followed at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens in Little River.
