Peter Joseph Quintano: Loris
1919 – 2019
Peter Joseph Quintano of Loris passed away on Wednesday, April 24, at McLeod Loris hospital. He was 99.
Mr. Quintano was born on Nov. 3, 1919 in Bari, Italy, to the late John Joseph Quintano and the late Pauline Carnocchio Quintano.
Mr. Quintano served his country with courage, honor, and dignity in the U.S. Army during WWII, after which, he worked as a master butcher in New Jersey where he owned and operated his own butcher shop. He loved the Yankees and the NY Giants, but had a passion for basketball and volunteered as a youth coach for many years. He was of the Catholic faith and will be dearly missed by his wife, family, and many friends.
Survivors include his wife of 76 years, Mary Margaret Diorio Quintano; three daughters, Barbara Taylor of Green Sea, Cathy VanWagner of Little River, and Patty Furrevig of New Jersey; two sons, Michael Quintano and wife, Carol of Idaho and Peter Quintano, Jr., of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren that he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Quintano was predeceased by his five loving brothers and sisters.
