Myrtle Lee West Page: Clarkton
1932 – 2019
Myrtle Lee West Page of Clarkton passed away Thursday, June 6. She was 87.
Myrtle was a devoted, charismatic Christian lady. She was one of the first female deacons, served as the church secretary, a member of the church choir and the WMU president. Myrtle served her community as well, serving as the town clerk of Clarkton and as an officer with Woodmen Life for many years. She enjoyed her 5:30 am morning walks with her friends every day and working in her flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis T. West and Gracie Goff West, devoted husband Norman Page and one sister, Vernise Vaught.
Myrtle leaves behind one son, Randy Page of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Norma Jean Page of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, John T. West of Loris; brother-in-law, J.C. Page of Loris; one sister, Geneva Doyle of Loris; and one sister-in-law, Annie Mae Bellamy, also of Loris.
Family planned to receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Clarkton First Baptist Church.
A funeral service was planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at Clarkton First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Miller officiating, burial following in Twin City Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Loris.
