William Norwood Fipps: Tabor City

1932 – 2019

     William Norwood Fipps of Tabor City died on June 11 in McLeod Loris hospital. He was 86.

     Born Dec. 4, 1932 in Columbus County, he was the son of the late William Alton Fipps and Rose Lee Harper Fipps. Mr. Fipps was a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he served and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant.

     He is survived by his wife, Freda Gore Fipps of the home; two daughters, Teri Fipps Jordan of Myrtle Beach, and Laura Clemmons and husband Alan of Myrtle Beach; one son, Randy Fipps and wife Beth of Watertown, New York; six grandchildren, Nicole, Kyle, Jason, Alayne, Kelly, Maggie; and two great grandchildren, Maddison and Parker.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ina Gore.

     Funeral services were planned for  2 p.m. Friday, June 14, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,  burial following in Spivey Cemetery.

     Visitation was planned for the hour preceding the service in the church.
