2nd man wanted for questioning in triple murder

     A second man is wanted for questioning in a triple murder near Whiteville.

     Jonathan Walter Watts, 37, of Whiteville is sought for questioning in the Sept. 7 slaying of a 5-year-old child and his parents on Brittany Lane south of Whiteville, a news release from the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

     Watts is known to operate an F-250 standard cab pick-up truck with a black flat bed with a Wyoming license plate, the news release said.

     Anyone who encounters Watts is asked not to approach him, but to call 911 immediately.

     Investigators have already identified another man wanted for questioning in the case.

Marquez Montrell Cherry

     Marquez Montrell Cherry, 23, also faces unrelated drug, firearms and resisting police charges.
