Dorothy Livingston: Loris

1923 – 2019

     Dorothy Livingston of Loris passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, at her residence. She was 96.

     Mrs. Livingston was born April 23, 1923 in Loris, a daughter of the late Ferd and Minnie Sarvis Grainger. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for more than 75 years where she was the original piano player, formed the first adult choir and was the original director of the W.M.U.

     Mrs. Livingston was predeceased by her husband, Robert Brice Livingston; a son, Bobby Livingston; three brothers, Hoyt Grainger, Howard Grainger, and Sam Grainger; and a sister, Austin Bryant.

     Survivors include four daughters, Wanda Livingston, Marsha Burgess, Terri Gause, and Lori Lilley, all of Loris; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Mack Hutson officiating, entombment following at Grainger Cemetery, Conway.

     Family planned to receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
