Melanie Beth Jones Kirchner: Loris

1972 – 2020

Melanie Beth Jones Kirchner of Loris, loving wife of the late John Walter Kirchner and loving daughter of the late David and Hilda Jones, went home to be with the Lord on July 15 at the age of 48.

Melanie was born June 28, 1972 in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York, grew up in New Fairfield, Connecticut, and later moved to South Carolina with her husband. She attended New Fairfield Public Schools, and graduated New Fairfield High School in 1990.

Melanie also attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Pottersville, New York. She worked at Dunkin Donuts in New Fairfield, Connecticut, and for the hotel industry in the Myrtle Beach area.

Melanie was a dear, loving, caring person with a huge heart. She had a smile that was radiant, and she would help anyone that came into her path. Melanie was always a hard worker and full of energy. She enjoyed being silly, reminiscing about old times, and making others laugh.

Melanie liked spending time with family and friends, going on family vacations, scuba diving with her late husband, and going to the beach. You could always count on a phone call from Melanie as she always liked to stay in touch and catch up. She was a strong person who overcame many obstacles in her life. She had a relationship with Jesus and she is now at peace in Heaven.

Melanie is survived by her second Mother, Georgianna Jones of Jensen Beach, Florida; sisters Sheri Dee and husband Mike Dee of New Fairfield, Connecticut, Valerie Chivinski and husband Ron Chivinski, Jr. of Torrington, Connecticut, and Krissy Louderback of Port St. Lucie, Florida; nephews Nathaniel Dee, Cody and Joshua Chivinski; and nieces Rachel Dee and Danielle Louderback Jones.

Melanie will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held in Connecticut at a later time, and a private family burial will take place at Lawn Croft Cemetery in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania at a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
