Jessica Kelly Hughes: Longs

1994 – 2020

     Jessica Kelly Hughes of Longs passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 25. She was 25.

     Jessica was born Sept. 4, 1994 in Myrtle Beach to Eric Hughes and Diana Hall Gore. Jessica graduated with honors from Loris High School where she was a drum major in the band. She earned her undergraduate degree from Coastal Carolina University and had just begun her master’s program.

     Currently she was working as a Student Account Specialist at Coastal Carolina and she was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church. She was an avid Mustang lover and won multiple awards from participating in shows.

     Survivors include her mother, Diana Gore and step-father, Shawn Gore of Longs; father Eric Hughes of Lori; sister Casey Willard and husband Will of Rockingham.; half-brother Landon Milligan of Tabor City; fiancé Robbie Bell of Conway; maternal grandparents Joyce Hall of Conway and Jimmy Hall of Galivants Ferry; paternal grandmother Audrey Hughes of Loris; paternal step-grandparents Billy D. Gore and Verona Gore of Longs; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

     Recently Jessica was extremely excited that she would become “Aunt Jessie” as her sister and brother-in-law are expecting their first child.

     Jessica was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Benjamin “Tilly” Hughes.

     Visitation was planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Hardwick Funeral Home.

     Funeral services were planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Buck Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Allen officiating, committal services following at Holly Hill Cemetery.
