Gunfire on Memory Lane near Tabor City late Monday claimed at least one life, with two others hit, a news release from Columbus County Sheriff Jody Greene said Tuesday.
Deputies were called to the area about 11 p.m. Monday and found three people shot, all taken to area hospitals for treatment. Two were reportedly airlifted, though the news release did not say that.
While confirming that one man died, the news release did not identify him or the other two who were shot, saying that their conditions were “unknown.”
Citing the ongoing investigation, the news release said no additional information would be released, for now.
